Frequently Asked Questions

What are cost-sharing flights?

In a nutshell, cost-sharing flights are leisure flights where a private pilot (not a commercial pilot) takes passengers with them on a flight for which they split the expenses. This is different to commercially operated flights which are subject to much stricter operational and safety standards.

How often do you fly? / When is your next flight?

I'm a software engineer by profession, and Flying is only my hobby. Therefore, I need to plan my flights around my job and personal commitments. When weather and personal ciscumstances allow, I aim to fly every 1-2 weeks.

Most of my flights take place over the weekend, which is unfortunately when there is a high demand for airplanes and so booking longer in advance is necessary. I love flying during the week when airplanes are more available even at a shorter notice, but since I have a limited number of days off work, I save these for multi-day trips or when the weather forecast is looking particularly good. Trips shorter than 1 hour can be done very early in the morning during the week before I start work.

I'm always thinking about flying, join the waitlist to be notified of available seats on one of my trips!
